Fall Enrichment

Stoney Creek Montessori is proud to offer a series of programs aimed at developing your child’s creativity, academic skills, and physical ability during the fall of 2017. This program is open to children ages 18 months and above. Pre-registration is required. To ensure a small student-teacher ratio, all classes have limited capacity. Parental participation is not required but parents are encouraged to remain nearby, particularly for children in the younger classes.

Storytime and Crafts (1.5-5)

 Stories, songs, and crafts based on specific themes to enhance your child’s awareness of textures, sounds, seasons, numbers, and more. Ms. Jen, who has led programs at community centres in the Stoney Creek area for over eight years, will teach this class.

Storytime and Crafts (6-10)

 Stories, songs, activities, and crafts based on specific themes and concepts to enhance your child’s exposure to literacy and numeracy concepts. Ms. Jen, who has led programs at community centres in the Stoney Creek area for over eight years, will teach this class.

Music and Movement (1.5-5)

 Introduce your child to musical instruments, songs, nursery rhymes, and interactive play to stimulate their creativity. Aimed at children ages 18 months – 5 years of age. Each child must be registered individually.

Les Bébés (1.5-5)

French storytime using music, stories, nursery rhymes and activities for children ages 2-5 years of age. Each child must be registered individually. No prior knowledge of French is required.

En Français (6-11)

An immersive and interactive French storytime for children ages 6-11 years of age. Each child must be registered individually. No prior knowledge of French is required.

Applied Crafts: Sewing, Crocheting, and More! (2-5)

Introducing little learners to threads and fabrics to expand their sensory experiences, develop grasping abilities, and expand creative possibilities.

Introducing learners to different kinds of textiles and threads to enhance creativity, focus, and self-expression. No prior knowledge required.

 

Two Plus Two: Shapes, Sizes, and Numbers for Early Learners (2-5 Years Old)

A fun-filled way to introduce your little one to Mathematical concepts through stories, rhymes, songs, and sensory activities.

Two Plus Two: Hands-on Math (6-10 Years Old)

Math Enrichment for young learners with a hands-on, activity-based approach that strengthens math skills for learners of varying abilities and learning styles.

Junior Fitties: Softball and Soft-Play (2-5)

 Physical activity class that combines soft-play and task-based activities with music and curiousity to enhance teamwork, creativity, and physical health.

Senior Fitties: Sports and Physical Activity (6-10)

Physical activity class that combines sports and task-based activities with music and curiousity to enhance teamwork, creativity, and physical health.

Kids Zumba and Yoga (1.5-5)

Physical fitness and dance class for young learners to enhance fitness, creativity, and focus.

Little Makers Fall Series (4-10 Years)

Little Makers, a local Hamilton business, offers hands on opportunities for little learners to create things that build their understanding of scientific concepts and give them a sense of accomplishment.
